On Saturday July 9th 2016 and in close collaboration with the MJF (Montreux Jazz Festival), the AAS (Alphorn Academy of Switzerland) will honor the founder of the MJF Claude Nobs at the occasion of the 5oth anniversary of the festival. Claude Nobs was not insensible to the sounds of the mythic Alphorn – especially when he heart it while walking his dogs in the mountains of Les Hauts de Caux.

One year after its foundation, the AAS had the privilege to open the 1999 edition of the MJF on July 2nd 1999 upon the specific request of Claude Nobs. 25 Alphorn players were then playing at the Stravinsky Auditorium under the direction of Josef Molnar. This time, the AAS will assemble the double – 50 players – to add an emotional touch of music to this jubilee.
